Mr. Fabian Palmyre, Principal Secretary for Youth and Sports who is also the Chairman of National Award Authority officially launched The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award Seychelles training workshop held at at the Maritime Training Academy from the 14th to the 22nd of November, 2019.

Ms. Joanne Waweru, The Business Support Manager from Africa regional Office and Ms. Wangari Kaburi from The President’s Award Kenya, facilitated the workshop focusing on Award Leaders Training, Adventurous Journey, Supervisor and Assessor Training, Online Record Book Training and Training for Trainers.

During his speech Principal Secretary Mr. Palmyre express his gratitude towards the facilitators for giving their time and support to the progamme in Seychelles. He pointed out that during the last nineteen years we have manage to touch and make a difference in the lives of just over six thousand young Seychellois.

Mr. Palmyre further stated during his speech that this milestone would not have been possible without the dedication and support of everyone involved with the programme. He urge the participants to take the opportunity to learn and share their experience so that the knowledge they will get out of this training will translate to the young people taking up the Award as a programme of choice.they can learn from each other.
